About Us -

Wally was formerly the chair of the Finance Committee of Woodbine Methodist Church and chair of the Church Council. He is a former banker with over thirty years in internal audit, investigating fraud, and risk management, and has a strong desire to give congregations reasonable assurance that their church is providing responsible stewardship of the church’s financial resources. Wally has served the Church as a Sunday School teacher, men’s Bible study leader, and in other volunteer positions as he seeks to serve the Lord in whatever capacity the Church has a need. As an audit professional, his professional certifications include Certified Internal auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA). He earned an M.B.A from Brenau University and is a U.S. Navy submarine force veteran. He started Gatekeeper Audit Services five years ago and has performed over eighty internal audit engagements for churches since starting the business in March 2020.

Sheila, my bride of thirty-five years, was a schoolteacher and media specialist and retired after thirty-four years in education. As lay leader, she currently serves on the finance committee and church council of Woodbine Methodist church and is the adult Sunday school teacher. She serves in a quality assurance role with Gatekeeper Audit Services and is responsible for all things related to technology with the company. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a Minor in Reading from the University of Evansville, and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University.
